People of the Monklands may be
pleased to learn of a new book, to be published in 2009,
which will take a comparative look at Airdrie and Coatbridge
in days gone by, and contemporary images of both towns.
Author of the work-in-progress D.G. MacDonald is kindly
asking Monklands Online readers and their families/friends
for some assistance with photographs.
He already has many suitable images, but would like to have
the widest choice possible with the bygone pictures. The
image doesn't have to be pre-World War II or 100 years old
-- it can be from the 1950s, 1960s or even 1970s, as both
towns have changed somewhat even in the last 4 decades.
Any material will be treated with respect, carefully looked
after, professionally copied and returned to owners as
quickly as possible.
