In England now, the sun rides higher in the sky,
And birds sing early in the morn.
Upon the pastures the grass is fresh and green,
Where anxious ewes call lambs with bleating cry.
The warming air sends winter in retreat,
And calls the yellow crocus from its sleep.
In the woods the buds begin to form,
And the squirrels hibernation is complete.
