Calderbanks' Greatest Cowboy( I that’s me)

A story of great heroism

I’m bucked, no that’s no right

Drunk maybe?

I, that seems right

I’m a fish swimming about;

A giant trout I’ll get home, alright.

I am pissed, bucked too many halfs`

I am the king, the greatest that’s me

………

I know a story

Wait a minute I’ll tell you, wait and see.

You may think you know the greatest in this land,

But you have never known, the son of aero plane island….

The Lone Ranger (that's me)

 to MY friends….

I fought off the Indians, baddies they where but I was a cowboy, I never was scared

From dawn till dusk great battles took place, to protect the fort, I fought right to the death

For I was a man with more lives than my cat, they will never scalp me or shoot an arrow through my heart

For I am the greatest cowboy,

Protector of the den…..,

Aero plane Island the greatest fort on earth.

There was only one thing that would make me run, (really I am a COWARD)

It was the sound of his tractor roaring towards our fort.

“Hurry|, quick!,"

It's the Pettigrew's crew, in their big blue tractor,

"They're goney get you”

“Oh no, our Carol's still tied to the tree”

Those bloody Indians will be the death of me

They have left her for dead…..OH f*%k  NO!

If Pettigrew's crew get there before me a fate worse than death our Carol will see.

I jump back on my gallant horse and skelp my arse, I batter back to the fort as quick as a flash.

Oh no, the blue tractor is now in the field with the Pettigrew crew shouting and swearing at me,

 I, they're breaking my heart.

“Get out ma field, I'll kick your arse”

waving their fists I don't think I'll wave back,

no time after all I need to free our Carol or my Da will skin me.

“Just hurry up” she shouts they're nearly here”, and all I can think about is the potential thick ear.

“Quick, run like hell” I say as I free her hands, no time to get to our house, there right on our backs.

We run like the Indians who ran before us, too our wee hide-de-oot place, they will never catch us.

Time for a pow-wow with our Indian friends as we hide from the baddy, we have beaten him again

It's a super tractor he will need to get all of us caught, because we are the greatest cowboys (and Indians) no fuss!

A hero I felt that late summers night, I just saved my wee sister from the terrible tribe.

If the farmer would have caught her, only God knows what he would do, just as well I was there, saved the day once again, the lone ranger to my friends

As some great man once said

“never has so many been saved by one so little” (that’s me) Whether Park Road Indians our Pettigrew crew, or timber devils from the bottom of town, the Lone Ranger and Tonto (our Carol) we're sound.
