Cumbernauld museum, house within Cumbernauld library, tells the story of the history of the Cumbernauld area, from Prehistoric times through to the development of the New Town in the 1960's.

Displays include dioramas and artefacts depicting the Roman invasion and building of the Antonine Wall, Medieval Cumbernauld and the Comyn family (rivals of Robert the Bruce), Victorian life and the Second World War. A video narrated by Magnus Magnusson explains the ideas behind the development of the new town, bringing the museum displays right up to date.
