Events:
All events are free unless otherwise stated.
Most events will last between 1½ - 2 hours.
Many walks will go off formal paths, so please wear suitable shoes and
bring waterproof clothing.
Children under 8 years must be accompanied by an adult.
Sorry! Dogs are not allowed (except guide dogs)..
WHAT ELSE ARE WE DOING?
Working in partnership for countryside improvements and urban greening
in North Lanarkshire.
Developing the potential of Local Nature Reserves at Dumbreck Marsh,
Kilsyth and Perchy Pond, Wishaw and of important parklands such as Dalzell Park,
Motherwell.
Promoting access opportunities for all and encouraging enjoyment of the
countryside throughout North Lanarkshire.
Supporting exciting green initiatives such as the North Calder Heritage
Trail and Greenhead Moss Nature Park.
Providing practical help and advice to community groups or individuals
wishing assistance with an environmental project.
Operating a Biological Records
Centre, gathering ecological information
on the animals and plants that are to be found in North Lanarkshire and the habitats where
they live.
Working with other agencies to produce Local Biodiversity Action Plans
to ensure that the needs of wildlife and the enjoyment of the countryside by local
communities and visitors are considered in the changing landscape of our district.

We are keen to gather records on all types of plant or animal for
Local Biodiversity Action Plans.
