2 little poems by KV Needham

JUST US

I'm planning for the future

I'm living day to day

Just dreaming of the time ahead

When I can have you back to stay

We will have such parties

Just you and Teddy and I

We'll have ice cream together

And fly your kite high in the sky

We will snuggle up in bed at night

And say our prayers together

Take heart dear child - cling on to me

For things must surely soon get better

THE PUPPY

Four muddy little paw prints

Through the porch and hall

These are what the puppy left for me

When he answered Nature's call.

Last night he chewed a cushion

The other week a shoe

I blame myself entirely

For giving him to you.

I sometimes think he's got to go

But who would take his place

What would I do without him

Who would wash my face

Who would take me for a walk

And give me lots of cuddles

Who just tries to please me

By walking in the puddles

This tiny little puppy

Is just so cute and sweet

He's not cut out to be too big

But he does get underneath my feet.

His face is full of mischief

His eyes are full of glee

For when I put him on the lead

Do I take him or does he take me.
