MONKLANDS HERITAGE SOCIETY

The Society (formerly Monklands Historical Society) was formed in 1961.

We encourage interest in the local history of Airdrie, Coatbridge and surrounding areas.

From September to April, on the second Monday of each month, we invite speakers on a variety of historical topics. Refreshments and an opportunity to chat are available afterwards. We meet in the Baptist Church Hall, Airdrie at 2pm and every one is welcome.

We have produced a magazine �The Raddle� which is available in 15 volumes. These contain fascinating stories about the local area and go all over the world.

2012 is our fiftieth anniversary and we will be putting on an exhibition in Summerlee Industrial Museum later on this year.
