A hug is a wonderful gift to share;
a way to show each other that we care.
There is so much a hug is able to do,
when you feel those arms, holding you.

It is a place to feel safe and warm;
a comfort for a sad heart that is torn.
An expression of the love in our heart,
for ones who we wish, never to be apart.

A greeting when we meet to say hello,
or to say goodbye when we have to go.
It can hold us up when life gets us down,
and make us smile, instead of frown.

A hug can be given for no reason at all,
and given to those, both big and small.
We're never too old to feel the joy it brings,
as it is one of life's, most pleasing things.

And for all of this beauty, a hug is free;
costs nothing, yet means so much to me.
We should all hug another to show we care,
for to feel a warm hug, nothing can compare..

There is no such thing as a bad hug; there are only good hugs and great hugs
Hug someone at least once a day and twice on a rainy day.
Hug with a smile; closed eyes are optional.
A snuggle is a longish hug.
Bedtime hugs help chase away bad dreams.
Never hug tomorrow someone you could hug today.
You cannot give a hug - without getting one.

There?s something in a simple hug
That always warms the heart;
That welcomes us back home
And makes it easier to part.

A hug is a way to share the joy
And sad times we go through,
Or just a way for friends to say
They like you ?cause you?re you?.

Hugs are meant for anyone
For whom we really care,
From your grandma to your neighbour,
Or a cuddly teddy bear.

A hug is an amazing thing ?
It?s just the perfect way
To show the love we?re feeling
But can?t find the words to say

It?s funny how a little hug
Makes everyone feel good;
In every place and language,
It?s always understood

And hugs don?t need equipment
Special batteries or parts ?
Just open up your arms
And open up your hearts.

A Hug

It's wondrous what a hug can do,
A hug can cheer you when you're blue.
A hug can say, 'I love you so'
Or, 'I hate to see you go.'
A hug is, 'Welcome back again!'
And 'Great to see you!' or
'Where've you been?'

A hug can sooth a child's pain,
And bring a rainbow after rain.
The hug! There's just no doubt about it,
We scarcely could survive without it.

A hug delights and warms and charms.
It must be why we have arms.
Hugs are great for fathers and mothers,
Sweet for sisters, even for brothers.

And chances are, some favourite aunts
Love them more than potted plants.
Kittens crave them, Puppies love them,
Heads of state are not above them.

A hug can break the language barrier,
And make the dullest day seem merrier.
No need to fret about the store of 'em:
The more you give,
The more there are of 'em.

So stretch those arms without delay
And give someone a hug today

Hugs are not only nice they are needed... Hugs can relieve pain and depression.. make the healthier happier, and the most secure even more so.. Hugging feels good and overcomes fear... It provides stretching exercise to short people and stooping exercise to tall people... Hugging does not upset the environment.. It saves heat and energy... requires no special equipment.. Hugging makes happy days happier and impossible days possible.

A HUG

No moving parts, no batteries.
No monthly payments and no fees;
Inflation proof, non-taxable,
In fact, it's quite relaxable;
It can't be be stolen, won't pollute,
One size fits all, do not dilute.
It uses little energy,
But yields results enormously,
Relieves your tension and your stress,
Invigorates your happiness;
Combats depression, makes you beam,
And elevates your self esteem!
Your circulation it corrects
Without unpleasant side effects
It is, I think, the perfect drug:
May I prescribe, my friend,....the hug!
(and of course fully returnable!)

A Simple Hug
by Amanda Jenkins

Through body and air,
Feelings shoot with care.

With every touch,
The rush was such:

Sadness striking deep,
Hurt afraid to seep,

Pain in a furious state,
Awaiting someone to open the gate.

A simple hug
Causes a strong tug.

Tears start rushing.
A friend starts hushing.

Feeling another's pain
Leaves a rare stain.

Through it all,
I hear the call.

Love shoots between our souls
Giving us our life goals.

Happy or sad,
Sane or mad,

Painful fears,
Hopeful tears,

Frowns and smiles,
Carry us over the miles.

Life as peaceful as a dove,
What we have is love.

Amazing as it seems,
We will fulfill our dreams.

Thanks to a hug so tight,
We know our love is right.
